Edible — mild. But the green amanita problem is real.
The critical check
- Death cap can be green-capped: look for volva at the base + ring + white gills on a stemmed amanita structure — excavate the base of every green cap before deciding.
- Green russula breaks chalk-brittle; amanita flesh cuts.
