About the project
Mushroom World is an independent reference about fungi: a species catalog, popular-science reviews of mycology, ecology and practical uses. We collect and adapt open material, rely on peer-reviewed publications, and present it in a form suited for reading, citing and discussion.
What this site is
Mushroom World is an encyclopedic portal about fungi in the broad sense: cap and wood-decay species, yeasts and moulds, mycelium as an organism in its own right. Our focus is biology, ecology and applied fields — mycoremediation, mycorrhization in forestry, biological pest control with entomopathogenic fungi, and the use of beta-glucans and other bioactive compounds.
The species catalog and the seasonal calendar are available in English. Articles and research-card reviews are currently published in the Russian version.
