Identification

Egg-yellow funnel; the underside has blunt, forked ridges that run down the stem — not thin gills. Flesh dense, white inside, smells faintly of apricot. Famously worm-resistant.

Edibility

A top edible: fried, stewed, pickled. Rich in vitamin D precursors among mushrooms.
