Identification

Brownish cap, yellow pores, yellow stem with fine granules instead of a net; flesh pale yellow, faintly or not staining blue.

Edibility

A good edible bolete — firm, mild. Belongs to the "safe" yellow-fleshed boletes, unlike red-pored species.

In practice

  • Yellow pores + granular yellow stem + no strong bluing = a keeper.
